Newborns lose a disproportionate amount of heat through their heads, which is why a hat is on almost every hospital bag list. The problem with most of them is fit: babies' heads change size quickly in the first months, and a hat that fits at two weeks is tight by two months. The knot solves that — loosen or retie it and the same hat keeps working through several growth stages.
The fabric is single-layer organic cotton, breathable enough that it won't overheat a sleeping baby the way thicker knits can. Mint is a soft, pale green that reads gender-neutral and pairs naturally with our sage and cream pieces.
